Sarah Ali

Sarah Ali is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In her poetry, she explores the poetics of fluidity especially in terms of prayer and religious narratives. She probes the many forms it can take (and has taken in her life), whether in language, physicality, or practice. Sarah is deeply interested in the way narratives morph across time and text, Old Testament to Qur’an, English to Arabic, etc…, and hopes to pursue an MFA in poetry in the near future.
